Hi, I started my weight loss at Christmas 2016 after going to Bigw and finding only 4 shirts fitted me. Standing at the checkout with a horrible t-shirt in my hand I made up my mind, I was 126 kilo or 278 pound.

It's now May 2017 and I weigh 89kg or 196Lb, I have lost 37.5 kg or 82 lb largely with little to no exercise.

If I can help anyone I'd say learning about the amount of calories in the food you consume and then how quickly your body uses those calories is key.

On fatsecret my RDI was 2100 calories per day but for me to lose weight I needed to consume around 1/3 of that around 800 calories! and to stay even about ½ or around 1250 calories per day.

So record your food intake in calories, weigh yourself and you'll soon find what your own finely tuned RDI to lose or gain weight is, viva the revolution hehe..

Tips?

• Give it time, learn about the calories in the food you consume.
• Record all food intake here on fatsecret.
• In the beginning a food scale can help compartmentalize your food.
• Stop it at the source [shops], if you don't buy it, you can't eat it.
• Don't weigh yourself daily, weigh yourself weekly on the same day in the morning before breakfast or coffee, naked or with the same pajamas on and only after your ablutions.
• Be aware of your salt intake, it can make your body hold onto large amounts of fluid, salt is often a mystery culprit.
• When I weigh myself I only record .5 kg (1.1lb) or 1kg (2.2lb) increments and disregard fractional increments it stops the mind games, remember a cup of tea weighs 236 grams or 1/2 lb.
• Fell off? don't stress just restart.

Update March 2018,

This past year I removed the following from my diet;
• Sugar
• Oils & butter
• 90% red meat
• Full fat milk
- and Replaced them with;
• Natvia (granular Stevia)& fresh/dried fruit
• Nuts
• Chicken
• 99% fat free powdered skim milk

Health results amazing!
