I'm 59, married with 1 grown up daughter and 2 lovely granddaughters aged 17 & 8. I took very early retirement from the NHS (finance) in Nov 2016 .. and have never been happier!

Used to be very slim and active in my twenties but gained a lot of weight due to ill health in my early thirties and have found it extremely hard to loose any since then, but very easy to put it on! I must've tried every diet under the sun but none have ever worked for very long. I cant exercise hardly at all due to a bad leg & back problems … I need an easy to stick to diet that I can stay on forever but not feel hungry so I am now trying the ketogenic diet (low carb, high fat) as suggested by a friend …. and so far it seems to be working. UPDATE - I am now 65 years old and a great-grandmother to a gorgeous little miracle boy Hudson (he was born 12 weeks prem at 2lb 3oz and not thought to survive, but survive he did and is now nearly 18 months old and walking!) So Hudson, I'm doing this for you sweetheart as I want to live to see you grow up! Back in Dec 2023 I was diagnosed as type 2 diabetes and am now on meds and am suffering from diabetic neuropathy and neuralgia as well. I have lost 7st 1lb since Aug 2020 and feel so much better in that respect, going from size 22/24 down to size 12/14 in clothes. I was 21st 9lb and today am 14st 8lb. My blood sugar levels are coming back down to normal at last, from 22.3 to 6.9, as is my thyroid & cholesterol. My biggest & best advice to everyone is to drink still plain bottled water and PLENTY of it all day every day. Its what has helped me to loose all my weight.
