Hi, my name is Brian. I am 29 years old and live in the Chicago suburbs. I have been overweight for as long as I can remember. My highest weight was 285 lbs! I've tried numerous diets including: Slim Fast, Seattle Sutton, Weight Watchers, Robert Ferguson's Food Lover's Fat Loss System. I wouldn't say any of those diets are bad just that well I failed them. The FLFL diet was probably the one I had the most results losing about 25-30 pounds in about 6 months. Although it seems like most people I hit that plateau where my weight stands still for months and then I end up giving up and going back to my bad old habits and gaining back most the weight. :(
As of 9/1/10, I visited my doctor and he has decided to monitor my diet and prescribe me an anti-suppressant "Phentermine". It seems to be working out well as I've already lost 11 lbs. the first month. I am basically counting calories and consuming no more than 1500/day. I eat about every three hours about six times daily to keep my metabolism burning. For exercise, I have been going on bike rides and long hikes which included my favorite hobby, geocaching! When it is cold out, I work out on my Wii Fit and have an option to go to the gym.
Feel free to add me as a friend so we can keep each other motivated!
