Still experiencing some sore throat issues so really hard to swallow.

My intent was to start a 23:1 this week with my "meal" anytime after 6pm and before 9pm. Trying to keep the time I allow my body to digest whatever food I eat at about 3 hours or more before I fall asleep.

As I mentioned last week, I plan to spend every week doing alternative versions of fasting, which I want to keep my body guessing. 23:1 means I fast 23 hours and I am supposed to get as many calories that I can eat into 1 hour compressed time frame.

So didn't get many calories in yesterday and today. But, planning to make that up a bit with adding a few avocados on toast.

@HighlandHeather - Thank You for the support. Truly I could use it! I understand that this is a bit controversial of a lifestyle change. But I have come to understand that it is one of the most natural processes biologically. Especially if you are morbidly obese. The body is waiting on a famine that will never come in this modern day. Fasting in small time frames gives the body the famine it needs to return to a balanced normal weight. It is the only eating dietary change you can make that increases the metabolism. It is mirror identical to dropping the insulin levels that you get from the Keto diet but with more weight loss. I see people's reaction to Fasting not unlike how folks reacted to Atkins and low carbing. It seemed wrong but in the end it was dead on right. They are looking at short-term Fasting as additional treatment options for cancer, epilepsy, Parkinson's, in addition to diabetes, high blood pressure and obesity. Check out Dr. Jason Fung from Toronto and his book The Obesity Code. Suggesting that all dieting efforts should include some pattern of "longer digesting times". Our bodies just were not built to eat from the second we awake til the time we go to bed. The biggest surprise to researchers is that all diets shrink fat cells but intermittent fasting overtime encourages those flattened, empty fat cells to die off as the body doesn't think it needs them. Nothing else does this. When 2-3 weeks his patients are off diabetes and high blood pressure meds all from waiting just a little bit longer to consume food in their day. Pretty powerful results.

@MarshaKanady being nice to myself is something I need to be more aware of and put into practice more!

Good luck with your fasting plans. I have fasted for up to 4 days. Currently I am on day 3 of a planned 11 day fast. Like you I started off with intermittent fasting. The reason I started making them longer was that the first two days is the hardest. From day 3+ I feel great. Also see: The Science of Fasting https://amzn.to/2H1enhK
