A cooler place to walk during the summer... the mall! I'm greeted at the entrance with music from the carousel, the rich scent of cinnamon from the freshly baked rolls, and a comfortable temperature for walking.
As I pass by the play area, I spot a toddler on his toes pushing his stroller as his dad proudly grins, and I glance at moms sharing precious moments while they watch their children play. What a happy place to walk.
There are scents to enjoy like chocolate wafting out from the doors of See's (no, I'm not a masochist - I just like the fragrance of chocolate), the smell of sizzling goodies from the Mongolian barbecue, and pizza baking in the oven.
Oh, look over there in that store window! Ahh, a red dress! I hope to wear it someday (soon, I hope) -- now I'm encouraged to continue to the next floor of the mall!
As I approach the exit, I'm again greeted by the musical charm of the carousel. As I pass by the cinnamon rolls, I whisper softly to them (it wouldn't be wise to be too obvious... that would tend to make people uncomfortable and doubt my sanity, wouldn't it?) and say, "One day I'll take one of you home with me. Not today, not next week, and not next month. But look for me -- I'll be the one wearing a red dress."
