Good morning! I was really cranky yesterday. I got the list of dos and don'ts for the elimination diet. I knew it was going to be strict, but... ouch! Eliminating: grain/pseudo grains, nuts, dairy, starch, seed and industrial oils, soy, nightshades, eggs, cocoa, alcohol (no biggie), tobacco (done), legumes, caffeine (Yeah, we'll talk about my cup of coffee), and processed sugar. What's left: unprocessed meat & seafood, non-starchy fruits & veggies, good fats (olive oil, avocado oil, coconut oil, etc.), a fairly good selection of herbs & spices, a variety of vinegar, and natural sweeteners (honey, molasses, maple syrup.) I'm cranky because I don't want to have to think about food until I'm ready to put it in my mouth. That means we need to have stuff ready and available. Once I got the list, I felt like My husband and I should be figuring out what needed to go into the fridge. He took a more lackadaisical attitude which really stressed me out. Didn't get to the store until 4:00pm. I rarely eat breakfast, but when I finally do break my fast, I need something fast. Now that eggs, cheese, beans & toast are off the table, I have nothing quick to grab/make. I don't like sweet things in the morning. Probably because I am not a sweet thing in the morning. I don't function well when I wake up. I just want to drink my coffee and try to be human. I'm going to grab a ham to pick at... any other ideas for compliant breakfasts?
