Went to a new farmers market his morning and finally tried the famous jicama! Can't really say that I liked it plain so am marinating it in lime juice and will toss that on my salad tonight.
Colder and dreary today - may sneak in a nap!

Not everything is for everyone ;-) I like it because it comes close to kohlrabi, something I used to eat a lot in Germany but have trouble finding here. It's a nice substitute for it every now and then.

Jozette - There is a recipe for making hash with jicama instead of potatoes. It might just work!

Ahhh the farmers markets..they are nice..and we have found tomatoes are gettin cheaper now..awesome..never tried the jicama...hope you like it what ever it is..LOL..:O)

Should work just fine for hash of some sort. You can shred it with a regular grater and then cook it up like stir fry and it works very nicely. You can even eat it raw after shredding for a different texture in salads. (My grocery store stopped carrying them - DARN!)
