I am updating my diet plan since I think Candida is no longer a problem for me. I am following Blue Zones guidelines, which is basically a Mediterranean diet expanded to include ethnic foods from other Blue Zones, too, including Okinawa, Japan and Nicoya Peninsula, Costa Rica. A blue zone is a cultural region where a disproportionate number of citizens live past 100 years old. The diet is low-glycemic and anti-inflammatory, featuring whole, minimally processed foods.

A low-glycemic index diet is a good idea, but I don't recommend these new "low carb" diets. Carbs help rebuild and fuel muslce tissues. Don't fall into these new fad diets, try to eat a well balanced diet consistenting of the right blend of healthy fats, protiens, and complex carbohydrates while minimizing harmful entities such as saturated fats and sugar. Good luck!

Preaching to the choir, Thomas. Blue Zone diet is very traditional. Not a fad.

I should have probably said "slow-glycemic" meaning no white or processed carbs. Ancient grains and root veggies all the way!
