So it has been a while since I've recorded any kind of journal entry here. Mostly I've been lazy about it, I admit, but I've also been a little disheartened by hitting a plateau in weight loss. My measurements are still seeing some progress and my body fat percentage is dropping a bit, so I don't feel that I'm not seeing any gain. I'm just not seeing the gains I expected.

However, I'm still dead set against crash diets and fasts. Even as a short term drop to hit another plateau (where I intend to stay). I'm tempted to move from a ~1800 kcal diet to ~1500 kcal diet but I haven't quite put that plan into action yet. I'm having a hard time meeting all of my nutritional needs (protein targets and a balanced diet) at that reduced calorie level.

In the mean time I've start kick boxing as an aerobic workout. My first class was last night and I do have to say that I'm very, very glad I waited until I was close to my target weight to begin. I'd have been completely immobile today had I tried that class a year ago. Even as it is I am ravenously hungry since the workout was ~1200 kcals by itself (I took my heart rate monitor/calorie estimator off about half way through since it kept coming loose and I didn't want to halt). If I keep this class up I might not need to do any calorie cuts.

I'll try it again on Thursday to see if my old bones can take withstand the punishment.

Yeah it is tempting to go to some quick fad to get past a plateau weight but I guees if you keep at it eventually ithe scale might start moving in the right direction. And yeah I feel you on being at a lower weight to try and keep with some exercises and/or activities that are a little more physically demanding. Your only about 10 pounds from reaching your goal hang in there and I'm sure you will.

lol that kickboxing class is gonna kick your arse!! They are so much fun, I am craving mine -haven't been allowed to contradicting sched w/ hub. Boo him. Anyway. There is a zig zag calculator that teaches you how to zig zag cals for weightloss or gain. Your body can be in a plateau if you are eating the same things every day. I will pm it to you see if it intrests you. 1200 sound too low, but once a week or so might do you good? Also I have seen that those kickboxing classes, some don't lose weight w/ them cause they don't eat enough... but either way its certainly is a change to your routine and that or cals my tweak your body into losing again! You are doing fantastic btw!
