It's Tuesday. I was keeping a "weight loss notebook", paper style, until June. I had my monthly diet calendars printed out with each weigh-in showing, the total loss for the month and the total lost since I started. I also had year calendar overviews with the same information, so I could see it all at a glance. I quit doing this in June. My notebook disappeared under a pile of clutter. I lost momentum and I quit losing weight. Coincidence? I think not! Since May, I've lost only 2 lbs total. Gee, I wonder if my inattentiveness might be to blame. I just printed out my diet calendars for the missed months, got them caught up, caught up my yearly calendar and am sitting here staring at a lost 1/2 year. Damn. I know how to do this. Why did I quit? If I had kept losing that one lb a week, I would be sitting in the 170s right now. I totally intend to do better, starting right now!

Steph, me too. We're going to do this. I had my notebook right in front of my nose today, and that's where it's going to stay. It's all caught up. I'm 30 total lbs behind where I would have been if I hadn't taken this detour. You're right though. I could have gained and I didn't, which means I know how to maintain. You are wonderful and I'm reflecting all that love back at you. Have a lovely evening.

I love what everyone has said Joanne! I think that they are absolutely right! You have maintained which is even harder to do then losing. I know you will find your way! You're back on track and that is all that matters.

I recently read in the local paper about a study. The group who dieted, exercised and journalled had the best results. I find if I do not do all 3 I do not lose. So, I agree you did very good losing the 2 pounds. I know it was not the plan BUT so much better than gaining. Why is this so hard? We will all do this together. Best wishes, Sandra.

Lots of awesome advise for you from everyone....but we are all here behind you, as you say don't look back with regrets.....you are still here and have been, just not doing what you know you need to do......a happy and healthy 2012 ahead of you....HUGS
