Happy Friday! Yesterday was Day 2 of successfully following new plan.

Am happy to report my taste buds are changing. Last night for dinner I had plain sweet potato and it tasted so good without the brown sugar & pecans, etc. (of course this is the first sweet potato I've had in 7 months). Am hoping this means my sweet tooth is under control enough so I'll be able to enjoy other foods plain - am thinking grapefruit, acorn squash, etc.

Sweet potatoes really are yummy all by themselves. Well actually I would have a nice dollop of butter on it myself. Have a great weekend Buffy.

Karen - I did have a little butter, but if you could see the way I used to fix them - they were more like a dessert. You have a great weekend too.

Sweet potatoes really do sound good. Haven't had a potato or sweet potatoe since forever it seems, can't really remember when. Don't miss potatoes, but i did like baked sweet potatoes with butter. Maybe I'll buy a few and fix one for myself as a treat ! Have a great weekend !!!

Notfast - Sweet potatoes have a much lower glycemic index than white, but I'm not sure if they are "safe" for me to eat yet. I only intended to eat 1/4 cup but ate 1/2 cup instead. Will see how that goes.

OOOOh Buffy, sweet potatoes are soo good for ya too...I don't know if you can eat corn on the cob but I have been eating them without butter or any thing...love the taste alone...hope your new plan works for you. Have a great evening...Bren

Bren - Love fresh corn on the cob. I don't feel too guilty when cheating by eating a vegetable.

Yeah I have to agree with ya Buffy.. last night I tried a pickled green tomatoe..never had one before but man o man it was good..tasted like a bread and butter pickle with a tangy bite to it..won't have any more as it came with a meal...LOL

Hey Buffy it is always good to revisit old foods in new ways, as changing the way you eat definitely changes your taste buds. Six months ago I would never eat salad without dressing, now I can't eat it with dressing - every time I make a salad now it tastes different, before it would just taste of the dressing :) have a great weekend :)

Tracy - I'm not doing as well as you but I am using less dressing - or diluted dressing. You have a fantastic weekend too.
