I have a theory but it flies in the face of most of your experience.

I have shrunk my stomach on the course of this WOE. Recently I've begun drinking 64 oz of water. The first day I really had to stretch my stomach to force the whole 64 oz down - to the point of pain. Now it seems that my stomach is stretched and I want to eat more.

Has any one else had this problem?

Notfast - what happened is that I had already had dinner but still needed to get 32 oz water in before I went to bed (1st day of Water Challenge). So I forced it down. I felt sick and my stomach really hurt.

I just keep my water with me at all times and have no issues getting it down. I had to pee one time for a drug test for a job. Just for the life of me couldn't pee. So I drank water and more water. So much so that I made myself physically ill (threw up). BUT still didn't pee :)

You are welcome. I had heard so much about water intoxication when I first started I did some research. Yes you can have water intoxication/poisoning etc. but it takes an awful lot of water to happen - especially in adults. In most cases the worst happens if you are consuming large amounts of water in short periods of time (the one death that sticks out in my mind is the one in 1995 - a girl in the UK took ecstasy and then proceeded to drink 7 liters of water in 90 minutes). I don't do challenges for that specific reason. Week one of that particular challenge should have been "Increase your water by XX ounces " and then week 2 the same etc and at the end of the week be at 64 ounces or whatever. My Dr. just recently told me that the recommendation is actually for liquid...water is obviously the best liquid as it is 60% of what we are made of and we need to replenish what we lose from breathing and sweating but liquid also comes in the form of tea, coffee etc. so chances are you are getting alot more than you really think.

Karen - I think the medical term for that is "shy bladder". My grand daughter has the same problem.

You would think that lol I just thought it was kind of an intersting fact - we always say we aren't getting enough but really if you think about it there is water or a form of liquid in almost everything we eat.

Hey Buffy - I honestly think that some challenges create more negatives than positives - if your body does not feel right drinking so much water, then it is not right for your body - leave a jug of water on your desk and pour and drink it as you feel you need it, don't worry about measuring it, you will find as it is there all the time you will naturally drink the amount your body needs with no stress involved at all - the best way :)
