Today I went to work expecting a 3 hour break for lunch/shopping in between cases and ended up with only an hour to grab something at the hospital's cafeteria. My work partner and I were planning to go to Perkins for brunch so all I brought with me to get me through the rest of the day was a Fiber One granola bar and a bottle of water since I knew I was going to eat way more points than I would like at a place like that. Not to go into too many boring details but my 8 hour day turned into a 14 hour day with barely any food. I didn't want to eat anything at the cafeteria because I didn't know how it was prepared so I got a salad with nothing good on it, a piece of cod fish (scrapped all the parmesan crusting off of it)and some fruit. Now it's 8:20, I've had about 7 points and I'm starving!!! This is why I have such a hard time sticking to my points because I can't always be prepared and I would almost rather eat nothing than take a chance, look up how many points I ate later and realize I picked the most horrible thing ever! Which reminds me of an incident at Bob Evans but I'm too tired to go into that right now. Anyway, my point is...it's 8:20 at night and I still need to eat about 15 points to reach my 22. I know the rule is to eat all of your points every day but is that still the case this late at night? If so, I'm about to eat an entire box of Mac n Cheese!!!

lol, maybe you could have a sandwich with all the fixin's you want on it. if you go with the mac n cheese, make it with very little butter and skim milk, and it would be better for ya then regular, right? i sometimes have a hard time eating all my points, and i hate that when it's nighttime cause i dont want to sleep after eating like a pig! so i know how ya feel...i usually have some fruit or popcorn... can you take some microwave meals to work and leave em in the freezer? that might save you if you end up having another one of these days...just an idea...good luck!

I usually take a SmartOnes with me and lots of good, healthy snacks if I'm going to be working over lunch but my schedule is different every day and can change at any time so no, unfortunately I can't leave food in the freezer just in case. It's not like this every day but today was especially frustrating and I'm just venting! :)
