Refried beans and taco weight this morning as we ate pretty late. AND it seems we are going to reattempt Little Italy tonight. It was insane last night. Not parking, but even getting into the area so we bailed after about five minutes because all the drivers were just a little psycho. Eating light today in anticipation.
So I finally swam yesterday and it was a performance disaster. I knew it wasn't going to be good, but I wasn't really prepared for it to kick me back into coughing spasms again. I broke it into three sets which I thought would be easy, but I just don't have my normal lung capacity to stay at speed. Will try again today and take the speed down three notches, multiple short sets so I can breathe and I'm going to take the limiter off my snorkel. I need all the air. Yeah, we fancy here.
BF's reaction to all this: "You're an idiot, sometimes, you never take things slow" well, geez, thanks. As opposed to all the time? He's telling me to take it slower, which I feel like I have been, but harsh, dude, harsh.
Numbers: 768 strokes, 9.6 METs (boo), average heart rate 146 which is probably the highest it's been in the past four weeks. Started off really well and held it for 12 minutes, after which the coughing started and it went into the upper tiers. Frustrating. At least I was working. Took a couple breaks too. Anyways, this is how we start back. Honestly, this is one of the things I resent the most about getting "older" and by that I mean when I was in high school and college, not a resentment towards old people. Recovery times from injury and illness just suck and take forever. Body doesn't keep up with the mind. blob up, muscle holding, I need to drink lots more water today to flush the sodium. Easy when it's hot. All this hair split my favorite cap yesterday. I have to order the conehead size going forward, it seems.
With all my grumbling, it was a gorgeous day and I always appreciate that. not such a rough life, eh?
