Well, I decided to buy my favorite sandwich for my treat. So hungry right now, after my dinner and some exercise, go back to do some program which I couldn’t do as I spent so much time in math.

Persistent person you are. But I think you're just craving for a Subway sandwich 😉. I stop asking why you're pushing yourself. Just pace yourself 👍

Great job Hgemmac you stuck it out

Subway sandwich lol hahaha 🤣 I was, how did you know??! But I had kimbap instead which my sister brought for dinner. At age 14, she made a boyfriend, which I haven’t had for my entire life, and he made her kimbap (so sweet btw 🥰).

Ah thank you!! Math became a subject that cultivates computational abilities to theoretical and integrative thinkings since single variable calculus. Multivar is tough; after this, I’m planning linear algebra but I don’t have a precise plan with math yet as I do with chemistry, my favorite 🤩
|
Calculus isn't use much for me in real world. Linear algebra or LP (linear programming) has been widely used in my work place. I deal mainly with process control algorithm like PID loop. Naturally I am okay with math.
Subway? It wasn't much of a guess. I saw some of your previous entries with Subway sandwiches. I haven't had a Subway sandwich in ages.

Oh no, sorry if my comment was too heavy!!!!! I’m trying to avoid writing serious comments but it’s just too hard for me. Okay, I’m going to change my thought- math is fun but it’s pretty tough subject for me to completely understand at one time.
|
Oh, great! Yea, I’ve enjoyed having Subway this summer! I was working part-time writing stuffs but something clicked my mind that I again wrote some serious comment in FS, came back to adjust my thought. I don’t want to make environment too heavy you know,,
|
No worry, nothing heavy about your comment. Everything I do here is very relaxing. I am not serious at all, so just be yourself. I am fully adaptable 😉. Pls don't over think it.
|
I wasn’t much aware that I’m a serious thinker until one pointed out when I was in HS. FS is only platform I can be myself and I always feel grateful to find this community. Wow, that’s interesting- what kinds of projects or tasks you commonly deal with? Didn’t know that before, then learning LA would be more useful skill in my chosen field.
|
Also, I’m jealous of that adaptability, for me that would require some training maybe looking from you? Haha 😂

Ah, one answer to all your questions. And that's "experience". You're doing extremely well, you have a lot of questions unanswered. In due time, the answers will reveal themselves.
Complex mathematics aren't use very often in my field of work. I am a chemical engineer, but I do mainly process control engineer type of job. I deal with computers all day long. A lot of maths are really basic, you heard of K.I.S.S (keep it simple stupid). LP is simple but also very complex set of equations for optimization. But there are LP softwares that cater toward optimization. So unless you are working in R&D environment, you don't normally do any fancy math to try to model or match your experiments with some simulations using complex mathematics. Pls continue what you're doing, it will make you very valuable to any organization you decide to work for,. Or run your own business.

I will keep doing my studies whether it will require a full commitment of my time to think about complicated matters. I have many ambitions in my mind so I’ll specialize my field as I advance my studies. Thanks for your response. I’ll get back to you later cause I’m pretty tired from studying now and just need to recharge myself to understand what you wrote.

Hahahahaha Keep it simple dude is so funny lol 😂 oh gosh that reminds me of my friend from computer science class in my junior high when he and I were working together to create an algorithm that catalogs our graduating classses’ statistics (GPA, SAT, etc) & colleges they went w/ majors and make %s for getting into certain school based on user (my HS student)‘s current stat. I don’t remember the particular moment when he said something like that as he tends to say a lot about simplifying things. I’ll remember it : Keep it simple😂. I’m in two paths- pharmacy college or college of liberal studies where I’m free to take all classes in that school and create my own major (I’m planning to integrate comp sci, economics, and chemistry/biology). I was admitted to pharmacy in Early action (I’d say in the US sense) and applied to liberal studies in Regular D which is the decision I made as I realized. Have so many interests. My current stance is pharmacy but I have til December to register the school so I’ll think about it moreZ
|
Wow, you certainly have a lot of area of interests. Unless you're planning on going to school forever. I was initially double-major (CE/EE). But after 1 semester, I decided it was not what I really want. Then switched to ChemEngr major and never look back. And what am I doing for the last 20 years? That's right, back to computer area which I am good at. Major in what's best for you, I am sure your parents, friends, professors, and your own research have pointed you in the right direction.
|
Yes, I think, for now, pharmacy with minors in data science (I can’t double major as I’m a pharmacy student but at least I can take some courses) may be a best choice for me. I’m hoping to become a pharmacogenetic entrepreneur and medical scientist with a strong foundation in chemistry and computer science. In terms of business, I have model, database I’m building and in my first year, I’m hoping to launch my business with few students in pharmacy in a entrepreneurial department in my school. Previously, I planned to go medical school after 6yr pharmacy & built my course curriculum (before, during, and after college) that way but now I’m opened to going to PhD in Pharmacology. I’m using this time to try out different things and find what’s best for me academically and professionally and I don’t try to narrow down my choices! I’ll maintain open-minded mindset!!
