Thanks Suma, I couldn't get decent fresh okra today so bought these frozen ones to try. Not a fan but I enjoyed the kedgeree x

Aww thanks Paula. I would love to open a restaurant but my cheffing days are long gone thanks to my back problems. Loved your charcuterie/cheese platter. Some cracking cheeses on there! That's my kind of supper! x 

If I could cook like you Gilly, I would never stop eating! Thankfully I'm mediocre at best😅. Never seen frozen okra. My mum does a chargrilled okra which I love. I cooked fresh once, but it turned out all weird and soapy! 

I used to work for a Swiss chef, my mentor. Opened my eyes to all sorts of cooking skills, flavours and techniques. What I cook for myself is pretty basic stuff! Everything on your platter tonight was 'nice things' I've never been to Portugal but I had an ex boyfriend who lived in Jersey. Big Portuguese community over there. Everytime I went over I had to bring back lots of rolls and custard tarts, both delicious! x 

I have a brilliant local shop that sells fresh okra but it was quite limp looking today. Thought I'd give these a try. No flavour at all unfortunately. Get her to show you how to make it!

Paul,I gave you a whoop whoop lol. I must admit I thought the France v Switzerland match last night was a cracker, real nail biter. Loved it! I'm soo glad for England. Who are they up against next? xx

I’ve normally bet with friends and colleagues had a bet with a colleague and I’m still waiting for him to transfer the money 💴 reluctantly lol 

Thanks Jan. Paul I'm best at betting on the gee gees. The boys and their chums are going to Royal Ascot on 7th August for my youngest sons' 40th birthday. I'm well jel! 

What does okra taste like? 

I suppose it's a bit of an acquired taste Las. Tastes a bit like string beans but has a sticky, seedy texture inside. Nice cooked like Tempura actually. Give it a go and see what you think. But get fresh ones, these were not the best! 

I'm going into town tomorrow, hoping to be able to get some fresh crab. Fishy week this week lol 

Im not much into horse racing I wouldn’t know one horse from another but I’ve been to Royal Ascot quite a few times in the Royal Enclosure at Royal Ascot’s prestigious restaurant that’s the only reason for me going I used to get taken each year by a certain company so I just picked one I liked the colour of 😂
