🤔 I think you need a different physician  

Lis, I have to agree with your point that doctors push the pills rather than diet/exercise (even though the poor diet and lack of exercise is what landed people in their predicament to begin with). I had a doctor that wanted to put me on statins a few years back when my total cholesterol reached 215. No mention of diet. It's like they have zero hope that any patient would have the motivation and willpower to save themselves from a heart attack. I changed doctors and ditched dairy, and my level went down to 198 in 6 months. Thankfully my current doctor is all about MY health and not what the insurance company and pharmaceutical companies need.

LIS, as a woman, I choose to go to female doctors as much as possible, and definitely as my primary care physician. I feel like she just naturally has a better understanding of me than a male doctor would. My doctor always provides me with a copy of my test results, as well as her followup comments and recommendations. I have access to this information through my patient portal, so I can actually go back years to compare my test results. Best of luck to you on your journey. 💛

Sounds like a highly incompetent doctor to not communicate the diagnosis to you clearly and sit down and discuss the advice. I can't say I envy people who have to get medical care in certain countries. It does seem more motivated by profit than anything else with rushed consultations and just leaving the patient to fend for themselves and wade through a sea of (mis)information. Luckily, you knew where to look for good advice. 

Great job on turning things around !! Good luck on the labs reflecting the results you expect to see !!!
