My husband and I made a BIG discovery last night. I didn't feel like cooking or washing up pots and pans, so I suggested we get a couple of fish tacos. But then I checked the nutrition. BAD IDEA!! The fish tacos have only 7 grams of protein, 23 carbs, and 230 calories. I'd have to have two in order to have an adequate amount of protein. And that's 460 calories, 46 carbs, and only 14 grams of protein. Not a very good nutritional bargain. So, I got a Crunchy The Del Taco -- 310 calories, 12 carbs, and 17 grams of protein. Much better.
My husband got a Del Beef Burrito, which has 500 calories, 37 carbs, and 27 grams of protein. Instead of eating in the car, though, we took our food home, and he unwrapped the burrito and scooped out all the filling and threw away that 10" flour tortilla -- 210 calories, 35 carbs, and 6 grams of protein. Then, he warmed up a Low Carb Tortilla (60 calories, 5 carbs, and 4 grams of protein) and put in the filling from the Del Burrito. Et voila!! 350 calories, 7 carbs, and 25 grams of protein!! Now that's something I could live with. I'm going to get that next time myself!!
