It is disappointing to see that my weight has gone up by 20 pounds in the last 2 months, but I'm not allowing this to be a trend. I've worked too hard to lose the first bit of my weight (starting at 318). Just got to get on track again! Constant struggle as always...

It is, isn't it? I lost 21 pounds total last year, but have gained 10 pounds of it back. Sigh. Well all we can to is persevere, right? Still-if we're in this for the long haul, we have to look far ahead. Habit changing is a long process, and you should reward yourself for every success on that road. And for the record-you've lost and kept off twice as much as I lost last year, and four times what I kept off. High five for that one!

Hi Katie, I have struggled with the same 20 pounds for 3 years. But this year I really am trying to stick to eating healthy. I also am a binge eater and at night I find that I am "Starving". To combat this I have been doing the following: 1) Print off a picture collage of a whole bunch of cute baby animals (llamas, puppies, turtles, etc) with the words STOP! STARE! SMILE! WALKAWAY! and put it on the fridge. "experts" say that looking at things that make you "smile & go awww" are suppose to help in releasing the feel good hormones...It works most days for me! 2) Drink a tall glass of water. 3) Brush your teeth. You are less likely to want to eat anything with that taste in your mouth. 4) Not sure if you are the praying type, but I've been trying to seek God and asking him to overcome my temptations. Just take it one day at a time. Don't focus on the mistakes of yesterday or what the future may be. Focus on today only. God Bless You on your journey.
