Today's been a really hard day, and it's still not over. However, on the bright side I was able to do some exercise today. I knew I just had to get out of the house- if nothing else for a distraction/ change in atmosphere. I really wasn't feeling up to working out, and questioned myself whether I had been really dumb to tag along only to wind up sulking in a corner or something. Somehow- through G-d's grace- I did some lunges and a few sets on the leg press machine. The only thing really noteworthy or satisfying about all of that was that when I was doing leg presses I got three full sets in at 140lb. I also did one set at 150lb without the calf extensions. So I feel happy that I can almost leg press my full weight or more than that even. (The machine goes up in 10lb increments, so the next step after doing a solid 3 sets at 150 is to go up to 160, which is 3-8lbs more than my current weight. :-D )
Therefore my next major goals with weight training are to press 160lb or more, and to build up to bench pressing 75lb- about half my weight. Right now I can do a 3 or 4 sets of 4 or 5 reps at 60lb load using a bar. Once I can do regular sets I will try moving up to 70lb.
