Yesterday I succumbed to despair due to the coronavirus situation; I ate cheese pizza. This means I broke the Lent fast. I feel disappointed with myself and angry. If I can't keep the fast and succumb on the first hurdle, what hope is there for humanity? We need to harness our desires and pay more attention to our souls. It is only food, not a hardship! Still I am worried about my inability to get enough protein in and the lack of iron. Also this vegan diet has increased the fluidity of my blood which can lead to a stroke, so lucky I had a blood test yesterday. 4 weeks to go. Tomorrow we are allowed fish - yoo hoo! On the downside, I only have one fillet of fish in the freezer, but maybe I can make some tuna cakes to supplement.
