Up early to exercise again! Way to go me! & it is getting easier to do. :-)

On Sat, I got up to exercise (not early, but it was still morning). I asked E if he wanted to join me. He says "I told you I don’t like exercising in the morning". I replied "You don't like to exercise"! LOL He said that was not true but he prefers the evening. I said that was 12 years ago when you went to the gym after work, at 3:30 to beat the rush. Different times, Different job. You have to adapt or it won't happen.

Basketball season is starting soon. He plays pick up games with his cousin every Thursday as long as it is above 60 degrees and not raining. They play for about 2-5 hours. He can barely walk for 3 days afterwards. I just think that if he did something semi regularly he would not be in pain for as long. It kills me when he hobbles around! Our house is all stairs. The look on his face just breaks my heart! Never mind that he sometimes has to carry the 85 lb dog up the stairs too. I know I can not force him, but he is the strong one. He needs to stay healthier than me! Giving, I am not the healthiest but being able to walk is important!!!! Hopefully, he will start joining me soon in my early morning excursions. :-)

Grrrrr he needs to get with it! But I think we all know, we have to want it for ourselves, not because someone tells us we should be doing it. Happy to hear it's getting easier to get up and work out, so much better when it's in your routine! Keep up the good work!

Well, maybe he'll wake up soon. Hopefully he'll come to sooner than later, since he's in pain. Leave men's health mags around the home? *Shrugs* Not sure on that one.

He is probably only 5-10 lbs overweight and naturally in shape and strong. But he is turning 38 this year and does not bounce back as quick anymore. I know if he exercised he would feel better and recover sooner. He is not there yet & it is sooooo frustrating! I don't really want him to get thinner. I just want him to not have all the pain after ball...

The weekend warrior syndrome is very common, especially among men. He would definitely not feel the pain so much if he had some regular activity in his life. However, knowing from experience with my hubby, this is most assuredly a case of "you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink". It took a long time with me exercising on my own for him to finally feel guilty enough to give it a go :) The best you can do is just lead by example and be encouraging when you can. Anyway, it's tough to get the habit going, just like most things in life. I hope it works out for you both!
