BuffyBear的日记, 2013年03月24日

I messed up last night. After an almost perfect day I had some sugar free fudge pops last night. I was thinking they'd have the same nutritional content as the sugar free Popsicles - WRONG!

I'm so mad at myself. I don't want to go back and add them in, but guess I'd better. Lying about it won't make the calories go away.

I hear you Buffy. This is so tricky. It is really worth it to read the nutritional values first. But I am sure it will not be THAT bad!

Don't be too hard on yourself, my friend! I can't imagine they set you back too much & you've learned something in the process. Enjoy your Sunday! xoxo

Jozette - no, it was not that bad but you are so right. Got to read the label on everything. BTW - did you know the government allows the label's calculations to be 20% off? Another reason to stick with fresh ingredients.

not sure about the 20% but I am aware that things don't need to be declared or the value is 0 when it is below a certain point.

Ruth - Thanks for your encouragement. You see, that was a "beginners mistake". Hope I'm not regressing!

Jozette - for whatever it is worth - this is off the Dr. Oz website "Jeff Rossen explained that you should never trust food labels because the FDA allows food companies to be off by 20% with their calorie count on a package. Anything you buy that is packaged in a factory, from canned goods to frozen meals, can have an inaccurate calorie count."

Buffy, I understand. But then, even if you buy fresh, there is always some fluctuation or do you always know the fat percentage of your piece of meat? And, some days we have a little more than we would like to and on others less. I would not worry too much about it, it might even itself out.

Jozette - Yes - you are right, we can take this a little too far. Got to use a little common sense - which on most days I am lacking - LOL.

Hey Buff! I did that the night before the 30 carb a day challenge started. I ate three ice cream bars that I had in the freezer. Ice cream --- love the stuff. LOL! Well they are gone now, right? You will be fine. I want to know if there is a way to make our own ice cream and keep it low carb. IS this possible? :)

Ice cream can be made low-carb & sugar free. Egg yolks, half & half, whipping cream, vanilla, and your choice of sweetener. Yummy! The ice cream I've been making has 147k, 3g carbs, and almost 3g protein per 1/2 cup. I add fresh berries when they are in season.
