I understand this diet well, I’ve been a part of dozens of facebook groups, read at least 3 books on the topic of Low carb High good fats and keto. I believe in it. I know it works. But I’ve had many a slip, and the reality is without the people in your immediate day in and day out life on board, its virtually impossible. My partner has finally joined me on this leg, after seeing results in my energy levels and consistency in mood more then anything. He, like most of the males on this journey drop the bloat weight fast, and see results faster than females. I love this, because I know with consistency I’ll get there too. I’m past the 2 week transition, cravings are down and I’m back to comfortably skipping breakfast (although I am going to flip this in a couple of weeks and skip lunch instead). I know this works, I know its “for me”, but I deeply believe it is for everyone... stay posted, I’m going to hold myself more accountable this time... a total life overhaul. I can’t wait.

All the best. Having both of you on board makes it a lot easier to stick to and have the support you need. As for going keto, going lower carb like the Primal Blueprint initially might help mentally ease into it. Mark (the author of the Primal Blueprint book) has written a book called Keto Reset Diet, where there are phases to get the body and mind (to an extent) ready for keto. Hope it helps. Just curious, what keto books have you read? All the best.

I've read Christine Cronaus 'the fat revolution's (mostly LCHF targeted) I like the way she broke down the reading of cholesterol, really helped me understand it better. Also, Sweet Poison by (David Gilespi) this one was hard to get throguh, very wordy and medically technical but brought it together well. Really helped me understand how Carbs work in the body. That Sugar Film which has an accompanying book 'That Sugar Book' (Damon Gameu) a lot of infographics intertwined with some comedy, showed me that's it's not just calories that counts...what we put in our bodies is a huge factor.. in the film he explores and eats food that is labelled as 'healthy' the way he transforms is eery and is explained well...this is my top 3. I'm yet to find one that covers eveyrthing. I frequently refer to the diet doctor website though.
