The superintendent from a large district here in Arizona suggested that I run for a school board seat. He felt that I have a lot to contribute. I never thought of that before, but now I can't get it out of my head! I have friends who can help me (one has run a number of campaigns), and so I'm going to start looking into boards that will have an opening next year. I never thought of myself as a person in that kind of leadership, and now I want it. I'll have to behave, though.
I've ended up with such a great life. I'm feeling lonely though, don't really want to do the rest of it alone. I've taken a break from the dating stuff, it wears me out and I just want to enjoy the holidays with my kids. The rest of them are coming Friday night!
Fasting today. I ate too much yesterday, not carbs but cheese and meat. I feel full and heavy today, and it showed on the scale. A fast is just what I need.

Wow a school board seat...yes I can definitely see you in that capacity, and I think you should! You do have a lot to offer.
I understand the lonely...been there. I was single (dating and so forth and trying some relationships) for 12 years before meeting my now DH. It will happen for you; you are such a wonderful woman I know that God has great things in store for you.

School Board - wow - sounds like a lot of work AND issues! We will be rooting for you if you go for it! Enjoy the holidays without the headache of dating - sounds like a great plan and your children will love you for it!

"I'll have to behave, though..." Funny. Considering how much all the current board members misbehave, I think you will be fine. I think it would be a great way for you to channel your passion for educating kids into a productive career. Talk some sense into the current establishment here, if you can.

Thanks all of you, I have over a year to start preparing before the campaigning begins. I'm really thinking of doing this! Erin, my kids are coming, but I'm planning to hike each day at some point. Can I let you know kind of last minute?
