Day 54:::)
I find my self lowing my cal intake lower then what i set it at. When i first started out it was 2000 and then I went to 1400 and then 1200. But all those times I have tried to wrok it so my calorie intake was lower then the number i had set for myself. Like now at 1200 cals a day I try to keep myself at 1000 sometimes even lil less and when i see it go over 1000 i get nervous. Not sure if that is a good thing. Just self eveluating myself. Mind u I dont feel hungry. and the days I eat less I am usually sleeping more cause I had worked the night before. My husband worries I am not taking in enough but I beg the differ cause otehr wise woulnt m body let me know?

I went through that same pattern for a while - and you will not lose weight any faster going lower - in fact the body will hold onto more of the fat for energy because it thinks you are not getting enough food for energy. It screws up your metabolism in the long run. Try keeping your calories up with extra protein, low fat string cheese, a few raw almonds, etc. 1200 is my RDI - and although it may look as if I am under it, I bet I eat more because we all tend to underestimate our calories.

Your body really wont let you know, not for a while. It will just eat muscle, cartilage, bone for energy if needed. You will feel crappy too. Stuff you dont want it to. I see you history and it looks like your doing very well. My wife and I went to a nutritionist, and she was set to 1200 calories a day. That is the generally recommended minimum for women, 1500 for men (thats what I shoot for). Sure, we tend to underestimate by tracking, but I would stick around that 1200 goal. They say 1-2 lbs a week is the healthy way, and I believe it. I dropped a lot more quicker when I started though, kind of like you did. Thats the easy stuff.

I would follow the caloric intake that was recommended and stick as close to it as you can. You want to get enough nutrition in to maintain your weight loss and your energy level.

When I hit my first plateau I actually upped my calorie intake. I figured if I kept dropping it prematurely I could stall out well before I reach my goal.

Do the calories recommended for your weight and activity. Lowering it on your own when you aren't satisfied with results may do harm and keep the weight on. Have you seen a nutritionalist to get a base number to go from? I know there are counters and calculators online, but I think having someone to ask questions about it would help.
