I am trying to find an alternative to old potatoes to cut down on sugary carbs. I have microwaved and mashed Sweet Potato and Celeriac with ginger and garlic. I will make them into cakes and fry them to reheat. Watch this space or the Obituary column fo the result.

I love sweet potato! Fave is nuking it whole in the micro first, the finishing it off in the oven... big baked sweet potato with loads of butter. Mmmmm. :D If you want to go even lower on the carbs, the "better than potatoes" califlower puree is actually excellent (depending on the cauliflower... probably made it a dozen times... delicious all of them apart from one... it was grainy and tasted like cauliflower. Unfortunately I would sooner stick pins in my eyeballs than eat cauliflower, broccoli or sprouts. Ok in soup but not on their own. I have tried to love them, I really have but.... it’s a No from me!

Hahaha - I get it... I cannot stand (the smell! It's the goddamn smell!) cauliflower... but that mash is AWESOME (when everything goes right... as I said, once it tasted like cauliflower!)... it simply taste like a really creamy and cheesy mash potato. It will however stink while in the microwave, but the taste is indeed as delicious as they make it out to be. And it doesn't smell when reheated (just the initial cooking of the cauliflower)... it was a sanity saver (that and low carb wraps) while on keto. :)
