stop looking at food as gratification. Food can be a necessity, possibly even distasteful, not unlike elimination.
I do enjoy my morning walk thru the garden patch, grazing on tiny okra buds and cherry tomatoes. I've been taking my coffee and tea black and my bread (rye, pumpernicle and "everything" bagels) dry. Snacks are carrot sticks, popsicles, dried (or fresh) fruit, occasionally sesame sticks. A can of peas, beets, or beans can be a meal. Occasionally I'll have a big dose of protein: eggs, cheese-n-crackers, cold cut turkey, etc., and now and then I'll have an "eat anything I want" day, and this seems to be working. The popsicles throughout the day, and the nightcap of bourbon keep me from feeling deprived of all the good things, plus I really like rye bread.
