My morning was off to a nice start. Slept in, lost a pound, put on my new size 10 capris - and then something happened.
DH made himself a toasted peanut butter and jelly sandwich and I made a comment about how good it smelled. So, before I even knew what was happening, he had made me one.
"You know I'm not going to eat that?" (me) "You wanted this. I made it for you. You'd better eat it." (him)
At that point I could see his feelings were really hurt so I ate it. And it was good. But the sugar in the jelly has left me hungry and now I am very limited as to what I can eat for the rest of the day.
So from now on I've got to learn to say the opposite of what I am feeling. For example, this morning I should have said "How can you eat peanut butter in the morning? The smell of it is making me sick!". I have 22 more pounds to lose - so whatever it takes to get there.
My thankfulness for today (believe it or not): Today I am thankful that I ate the breakfast my husband made for me so as to not hurt his feelings. There are some things more important than weight loss.
