Went to the gym for the first time this morning. I'm pretty sure I'm going to wake up hurtin' tomorrow, but the good kind of hurt.
I did...
Dumbbell bench press 3x10
Squats 3x8
Seated rows 3x10
Hamstring curls 2x10
Leg extensions 2x10
Pullups 5, assisted pullups 8
Tricep pulldowns 3x10
Concentration curls 3x10
Calf raises 3x10
Decline situps 1x10
Hanging leg raises 2x10
I haven't been there in two years, but I immediately recognized three of the people in there from before. The sad thing was that they hadn't changed. One had even gained a bit. I don't know if they've been working out for years without change, but it sucks if they have been. I quickly realized why it could happen though. The entire 45 minutes of my workout, those guys only did 1 set. They spent the rest of their time socializing. I don't ever want to be "that guy".
By the way... I HATE SQUATS! I don't know if I'm just built wrong or something, but I can never do them right. My upper body always goes too far forward. I can't keep my balance, and the only way I can go all the way down is with an extremely wide stance. The only way I can keep good form is to use such a light weight that it doesn't even give me a good workout. I'll probably stop trying to do regular barbell squats and opt for front squats, hack squats, or leg press instead.
