I love my diet. I really do. How can you feel deprived in the slightest after having a big bowl of oatmeal topped with cinnamon, chocolate chips and peanut butter?
So. Flippin'. Good.
Along with my coffee (decaf) this yummy breakfast comes in under 300 calories. The peanut butter (just one tablespoon, half a serving) adds some protein and fat which gives the meal incredible staying power and ten dark chocolate chips add such rich depth and sweetness for only 24 calories.
I'm a happy girl with a warm, full tummy. Oats...gotta love 'em. :)

I was hoping to see a loss on the scale today and instead was right was it was four days ago. In the past, I would have let this discourage me and give up, while looking for a new quick fix to make everything all better.
Not this time.
This time, I acknowledged the feeling of disappointment, for to deny it would just mean I am stuffing the emotion and lead to a pity party binge later on. This time, I reflected on what I had done over the last few days and looked for where I could improve. I found that I have been eating more fat and more sodium even though my calories are in line. This time, I continue on and follow my program based on the fact that it IS working for me, makes me feel good, and is nutritionally sound.
This time, I put health and my long term goals above the number on the scale and keep fightin' the good fight. :)
