Well todays as good as any . I started my weight loss journey a few years ago ( yes years ) after being extremely ill for 2 years i became depressed and my weight went up to 16 1/2 st ( 231 lbs - 105 kg ) . I had previously been quite fit all my life and was basically reduced to the point of not being able to get myself off the floor without using something to crawl up to get to standing level . I was also pre diabetic- waist measurement was 52inches ( measured properly ) i literally couldnt see my feet, im also a short guy at 5'6 - approx 167cm. Much of this was my own fault for giving up. We usually find something else to blame when its really just ourselves.

After a long period of walking and watching my calorie intake i was able to start resistance training gently and work harder and harder as the weeks passed and the improvements started showing . At times lifes ups and downs got in the way as they do but i quickly got back on track. My goal date was originally the 31/3/24 where i was going to take 2 weeks maintenance and plan my next goal. However i have no one to celebrate with near that date ( im seperated and single now living in a new town ) so i decided to have 24 hours from yesterday of free eating and move ahead with my next goals.

So heres my progress : 2 years ago i was 231 lbs with a 52 inch waist
yesterday i weighed in at 149 lb with a 27 inch waist. I have gone from x large tshirts to x small . I'm 51 in a couple of months and plan on shedding more fat and build a more muscle. All the best to you all and thank you for all the support - i hope you not only match my losses but surpass me . Had a refeed / up eating day yesterday where i consumed around 5500kcals - I quite enjoyed it, it was definitely a relief from the extremely low calories of the past week , There is obviously the aftermath on the weigh in but im fully aware its a temporary number and quickly comes down again.

I will wait around 2 or 3 days for all the excess sugar and salt to leave my system as it causes an awful lot of water weight gain. I have around 3 1/2 weeks left until my goal date during that time i'm going to stick to 1000 extra calories on my refeed day probably 2 chocolate bars between my usual meals.

I believe if you go into a free eating / cheat day not realizing how the damage it seems to do on the scales it can really destroy you mentally. I usually eat so much theres is a 5lb gain or more but thats gone within 2 or 3 days. Hence i dont think large refeeds are suitable for some people as they beat themselves up mentally afterwards. It also depends on how quickly you need to reach your goals.
