Time to reflect. I'm doing great 2 weeks post-op, but my overeating problem came back as the pressure in my stomach subsided. I'll record my food intake today and try to make a habit of it. My food weaknesses have been chocolate candy, rice, and BBQ. Same as ever.

It's such a beautiful day, and not too hot for late April, so I walked my dog over a mile. That was a big achievement for me because I haven't walked in such a long time due to my female problems, which the surgery took care of. I was pretty winded, but that's to be expected as my body is still recovering.

My knees felt okay, but a little creaky. I had to go off turmeric for 2 wks prior to surgery, but I resumed about a week ago, so hopefully they'll get better again.

I wish Mr C could walk with me, but his allergies are horrible, and the pollen has been off the charts here.

Yesterday, we talked about getting old. He's 65 and said he was having a hard time wrapping his head around being old. I asked him how long he expected to live and he said 87. I don't know if he realized that's how old his mom is now, and she's in memory care and not able to remember anyone although she's doing fairly well physically. At our age you start worrying about whether one or both will have dementia and how you'll handle it. My mom is 84 and has no signs of dementia, but her little body is wracked with arthritis. She's a fall risk yet stubbornly refuses to get treatment. I'm wondering what's in store over the next couple of years. Guess I better get myself in shape to handle it.
