I am living proof that "you can teach an old dog new tricks".

Despite my strong ability to walk on the treadmill at home (not a professional one, no inclines, constant speed);

Despite my ability to walk fast for one hour going up and down neighboring hills;

Despite my mountain hikes for 3 hours;

Despite my regular yard work (sometime heavy plowing and lifting)

I discovered I have NO MUSCLES.

Today marks my first visit to a GYM ( I went once before during my college years and got intimidated by the fraternity boys, I swore I would never do it again).

The owner of the gym is a professional trainer with a wall full of trophies in JUDO and weight lifting. His wife is also a professional trainer and a nutritionist. He stayed with me the whole time and was showing me how to use the machines. Most of them, I did not have any idea how to sit on the bench let alone what to do with the weights. LOL.

I could not lift or pull anything heavier than 15Kg (33 Lbs) for a full set of 12!!!!!!!!

So, the first visit at the GYM was great. About 30 minutes of various weight lifting and 30 minutes on a professional treadmill, a shower, and BOOM...I feel great.


P.S. The trainer did suggest I take a couple of tylenols tonight to reduce the sore muscles pain. LOL

P.S.S. This is my counter attack against the moobs and flabs that are beginning to appear as I continue to lose weight.

I hope I have time on Monday to squeeze in another hour in the Gym.

Great to hear you got to go to the gym! You will be sore, but the best remedy is to go back and do some more!! A good protein drink will help you too!! Take before or just after your workout. It will help you to build good muscle!
