With only 4 hrs of sleep last night, and, the sleep was poor quality, I'm definitely feeling the fx. Fatigued for sure, but I seem to be more hungry this AM. Normally, I don't feel much desire for AM food, but today, I'm almost famished!

Also, I gained weight with this AM's weigh-in. 3 pounds worth, after 4 days of loss. I know yesterday's gumbo cooking probably had something to do with that (can't resist Loooo-siana sausage!), but I'm wondering if sleep deprivation is a factor as well. I had been sleeping at least 8 hrs a night and bam! 4 fitful hrs last night has to be a shock to the system.

Always heard that sleep deprivation will slow metabolism, and weight loss...but this study refutes that.ScienceDaily: Sleep loss limits fat loss. Both sleep deprived and sleep satiated participants lost the same amount of weight.. but the fat/protein proportions lost changed..and quite a bit.

Sleep deprived = less fat, more protein lost. And, hormones that affect hunger are whacked as well, promoting hunger, so that one is tempted to eat more.

Wow... Now I need to concentrate on getting good sleep.

As if I didn't already know that, lol.
